YOUTH
Safe Ministry
Our youth programs are a place where teens can ask the big questions of life, discover Jesus, make some great friends and enjoy God’s gifts of each other and creation. We have an amazing team of youth leaders who love to teach and encourage teenagers. Our leaders are trained in safe ministry and follow our diocese safe ministry guidelines including the social media and online communication policy.
In order to care for the youth as best as possible we require the parent/guardian of any youth under 18 to submit the registration form below within a week of attending our youth group. We also require basic contact details of the youth’s parent/guardian on the first night they attend. As a safety practice we require the parents/guardians to please fill out the registration form for their youth each year so that we have up to date information that will assist us in providing the best care possible.
EAC Youth Fridays | Friday Night 7:00-9:00pm
Every Friday night during school terms around 70 teenagers gather at Engadine Anglican to enjoy games, food, a talk from the Bible and a short discussion. EAC Youth is for high schoolers in years 6-12, with teenagers coming from many different schools. For safety, we have each youth family fill out a Registration form (above) on the first week they come. We start promptly at 7pm so the best drop off time is 6:50-7pm.
EAC Youth SUNDAYS | Sunday 9.30am (yrs 6-9)
Bible Study for Years 7 - 9 runs parallel with adult church at Engadine Anglican (9.30am). We are strongly encouraging those in years 10-12 to form small groups which meet together and read the Bible. To facilitate this we open the church on Sunday afternoons of term time from 3:30-5:30pm and before youth group on Fridays from 5-7pm.
Many youth (especially from Year 10 onward) are part of Night Church congregation from 6-7pm.
G7 and LiT
G7 is our much anticipated in-house annual high school camp. It is for those in years 7-12 (high school). This year the camp will run between the 16th to 21st of April 2024 at Watersleigh campsite in Shoalhaven so please save the date for 2024.
LiT (Leaders in Training) is an annual youth camp for youth in years 9-12 which is about growing youth as a Christian, as a leader and as a servant of Jesus and His people. It has a fantastic multi-streamed training curriculum and always has faithful and excellent teachers of the Bible. As the name of the camp suggests it’s not for leaders only, but all youth as it seeks to grow and train them in those skills. You can find more information on their webpage.
Christian Lunch Time Groups (ISCF)
During School Terms we run two Christian lunchtime groups (ISCF). One at Engadine High and the other at Heathcote. These groups provide an opportunity for the youth to enjoy their lunch and explore the Bible together with like-minded peers with the guidance of a leader who facilitates discussion. It’s a warm, inviting and relaxed environment. If your youth would like to join us please ensure they fill out the permission form below. I’ve also provided a flyer if youth wish to use this when inviting others.
Churchies (Camp for school leavers and equivalent aged workers)
At Churchies we enjoy 7 days of relaxation, fun and thoughtfulness for finishing school and moving into the next stage of life. Activity options during the week include tennis, restaurants, mini golf, go karts, sand boarding, bowling (lawn and 10 pin), quad biking, snorkelling, marine discovery cruise, surf beaches, sea kayaking, late night games, relaxing, camel riding, sleeping in, swimming with sharks and sting rays and more!
Each day has a time of christian teaching and reflection and these times will involve exploring the Bible and thinking through how it may help us as we make decisions that affect our lives.
Churchies is for students who have just completed the year 12 HSC exams and equivelant aged workers. We stay in luxury apartments in the bay parklands complex in Nelson Bay which has a fully equipped kitchen, entertainment facilities, laundries and heaps of space. There’s also a swimming pool, spa and tennis court.

Holidays
During the holidays our formal youth ministries cease to enable our leaders to rest and prepare well for the next term and/or year. We also run training for all of our kids and youth leaders on the first Friday of term in order to show our investment into further developing our leaders whilst not adding to much to their workload as they are already very generous with their time. While our Sunday youth programs aren’t running we encourage the youth and their families to attend church together. In order to help youth to make the most of our church services, here is a sermon note taking sheet that the youth can use.
